LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty Women's Tennis Head Coach Jeff Maren will not be returning in order to pursue other opportunities. A national search for the program's fifth head coach will begin immediately.
Maren recently completed his 12th season as the program's head coach where he posted a 184-98 team record.
During the 2023-24 season, Liberty posted an 18-7 team record and advanced to the Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship title match. The Lady Flames participated in the 2024 UTR Sports NIT Championship where they advanced to the semifinals.
"We are grateful for Coach Maren's 12 years of service to Liberty University and our women's tennis program," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. "We wish Jeff and his family the very best as they move on to their next opportunity."
Maren was named the head coach of the Liberty women's tennis program during the summer of 2012. Maren was a two-time conference coach of the year, earning Big South Coach of the Year honors in 2016 and ASUN Coach of the Year recognition in 2019.
Under Maren's guidance, Liberty reached the semifinals or finals of the conference tournament in each of his 11 full spring seasons (six times in Big South Conference, four times in ASUN Conference and once in Conference USA).
