LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lady Flames hope to conclude the regular season on a high note, welcoming Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon. Liberty plans to honor its graduating senior class in a pregame ceremony. The contest is set for a 1 p.m. first draw at the Liberty Lacrosse Field.
Liberty (6-10, 3-2 ASUN) looks for its third consecutive victory when it hosts Jacksonville (7-8, 5-0 ASUN). The Lady Flames have won their past two conference matchups, topping Kennesaw State 15-12 (April 13) and Lindenwood 14-10 (last Saturday). Both victories came on the road.
In a pregame ceremony, the Lady Flames are set to honor their 2024 senior class of six graduates. This year's class includes Mia Blackburn, Olivia Glaze, Katelyn Weissend, Kelly Scott, Mackenzie Lehman and Jordan Sheive.
The Lady Flames currently sit as the No. 4 seed in the ASUN standings after securing two consecutive conference triumphs. With a Queens (3-2 ASUN) loss to Lindenwood (2-3 ASUN) on Saturday, Liberty would secure the No. 3 seed regardless of the result of the contest against Jacksonville. Both Liberty and Jacksonville have clinched positions in the 2024 ASUN Women's Lacrosse Championship, held in Jacksonville May 2-4. The Dolphins have clinched the No. 1 seed and the 2024 ASUN regular season title.
Midfielder Olivia Glaze looks to build off one of her most productive performances from last Saturday. The senior led Liberty with six points, tallying four goals and assisting on two more. Glaze made an impact all over the field with four draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Glaze leads the team and the ASUN and No. 11 nationally with 36 caused turnovers and 2.31 per game.
Liberty and Jacksonville have become common foes of late, meeting multiple time for the past four full seasons. Liberty owns a 1-11 all-time record against Jacksonville. The Lady Flames picked up their first-ever win over the Dolphins, a 12-10 road triumph in 2023, but Jacksonville responded with a victory in the 2023 ASUN Championship title game, 14-13 in OT.
