Turning Point
- New Mexico State's Desirae Spearman pitched a complete game and supported her own cause with a two-run homer in the third to make it 3-0. Her seventh-inning solo homer pushed NM State's lead to 6-0.
- The Lady Flames loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh. Brynn McManus grounded into a fielder's choice, and two runs scored on the play after a collision on the throw from second to first. Mary Claire Wilson singled, reloading the bases. Spearman then ended the game, getting KK Madrey to ground back to her for the final out.Â
- New Mexico State outhit Liberty 5-4 for the game. The Aggies committed three errors, compared to two defensive miscues for the Lady Flames. The visitors stranded four runners, while Liberty tied a season high with 11 runners left on base.
- Spearman (8-2) earned the win, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits, walking eight and striking out two. The freshman was the hitting star of the game, going 2-for-3 with two homers, giving her 15 for the season, while driving in three and scoring twice.
- Liberty's Katie Love (6-4) drew the loss, yielding three runs (two earned) on three hits, walking two and fanning four in two innings. Kaylan Yoder pitched five innings, allowing three runs on two hits, with three walks and five strikeouts.
- Jillian Taylor batted 1-for-3 with two runs scored for the Aggies.
- Rachel Roupe went 1-for-1 with three walks, while Savannah Jessee, Megan Fortner and Mary Claire Wilson had one hit each.Â
- Liberty leads the all-time series over NM State 3-2, as the Aggies beat the Lady Flames for the first time since March 18. 2005.
- The Lady Flames' eight walks are their most in a single game this season.
- Roupe recorded her team-leading 16th double of the season. Her 16 doubles are tied for the eighth most in a single season in program history and are the most by a Lady Flame since Caroline Hudson's 17 last year.
- Roupe is now tied with Amber Bishop-Riley (2017-21) for the eighth most career walks in program history, 66.
- Roupe has reached base safely in each of her last 10 plate appearances, dating back to Wednesday's game against North Carolina.
- New Mexico State and Oklahoma are the only two teams to beat Liberty in the second meeting between the teams this season. The Lady Flames are 9-2 when meeting a team for the second time this year.
- Liberty honored four graduating seniors (Raigan Barrett, Megan Fortner, Sierra Kersten, Mary Claire Wilson.Â
