The Blue Devils jumped out to a 6-1 advantage through five innings, only to see the Flames cut the visitors' lead to 6-4 in the seventh before putting the game away in the eighth on a three-run home run by right fielder AJ Garcia.
Liberty center fielder Kane Kepley led the Flames with three hits, including an RBI double. First baseman John Simmons drove in two runs with a ground-rule double for the Flames.
Liberty sees its three-game winning streak come to an end. The Flames drop to 13-15 on the year. Duke moves to 21-8.
