
Liberty Secures Seventh Consecutive 4-0 Victory, Topping UTEP

EL PASO, Texas. – The Lady Flames extended their winning streak to seven consecutive matches with a 4-0 triumph at UTEP Friday afternoon. All of Liberty's victories on its seven-match win streak have a 4-0 outcome. Friday's match was held at the El Paso Tennis Club.
Liberty (14-5) continues its undefeated run in Conference USA play, now with a 4-0 record, following Friday's win at UTEP (5-14, 0-4 CUSA). The Lady Flames secured two of three doubles matches with victories on courts three and two. Liberty grabbed three consecutive two-set triumphs in the No. 4, 3 and 6 singles matches.
Esther Lovato extended her singles winning streak to eight matches and a team-best 12-4 singles record. The senior improved on her program record 118 career singles wins with the triumph. The Austin, Texas native was also selected to the 2024 Conference USA All-Academic team, the conference announced as the match commenced.
The Lady Flames improve their road record to 5-5 (4-3 road, 1-2 neutral) with the triumph. The two programs were facing each other for the first time on Friday.

- Liberty got the day started with a doubles victory on court three. Esther Lovato and Marina Davtyan (5-0) cruised past Elena Dibattista and DeCora Antoine 6-1.
- The Miners answered in the No. 2 doubles to even the doubles round. In their first match playing together, freshmen Sadie Daavettila and Maria Turchetto fell to Carlotta Mencaglia and Hanna Telzynska 6-3.
- The Lady Flames secured the doubles point with a triumph on court one. Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Toffany Nguyen bested Veronika Lebisova and Zuzanna Szczepanska 6-2.
Singles
- Lovato picked up her 6-1, 6-2 victory over Dibattista to get the singles round started on court three.
- Liberty created a commanding 3-0 lead in the No. 4 singles match. Davtyan cruised in her match 6-0, 6-3 over Telzynska.
- The Lady Flames secured the match-winning fourth point in the No. 6 singles match. Turchetto (10-6) bested Szczepanska 6-4, 6-0. The freshmen becomes the second on the team with 10 or more wins this spring.
- Liberty dropped the first set in just one singles match on Friday.
