BLACKSBURG, Va. – The No. 16 Virginia Tech Hokies downed the Liberty Flames 13-3 Wednesday evening at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park. The game ended in the eighth inning due to run rule.
After the Flames cut the Hokies' lead to 4-3 in the top of the seventh inning, Virginia Tech answered with eight runs in the bottom of the inning to take control of the contest.
Left fielder Brayden Horton drove in all three of Liberty's runs with a two-run single and an RBI double.
Liberty drops to 15-17 overall. Virginia Tech snaps a three-game losing streak and improves to 22-8.
