COLLEGE PARK, Md. – No. 65 Maryland fought for a 4-0 sweep of No. 60 Liberty on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Flames (6-4) played a tough doubles point but ultimately fell with losses on courts one and two. Maryland (7-4) capitalized on deuce points, taking the majority of deciding points in the match. The Terrapins secured the match-clinching fourth point with three singles victories in the No. 3, 6 and 2 singles matches.
Liberty falls to 1-4 away from Lynchburg in 2024 and still seeks its first victory over Maryland, currently 0-3 all-time when facing the Big 10 program.
Thoughts from Head Coach Jeff Maren
"I think it was a nice weekend for us, we had one where we won ugly and one where we lost well. Our goal is to grow from the result of these two days. Today showed us how we could get to that next level. I feel like our girls played really well, but we just got outplayed in the key moments. To God be the Glory!"
