
No. 57 Flames Welcome Richmond, No. 68 William & Mary for Pair of Matches

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The No. 57 Liberty men's tennis team prepares to host Richmond Wednesday and No. 68 William & Mary on Saturday for a pair of in-state matches this week. Both matches will be held at the Liberty Tennis Complex with first serve is set for 3 p.m.
Liberty (11-5) looks to build on a marquee victory, topping No. 42 Old Dominion 4-2 on March 8. Richmond (9-3) and William & Mary (9-7) are set to play a neutral site match at the Liberty Tennis Complex on Saturday at 10 a.m.
After a difficult 1-2 weekend at the Diablos College Invite (March 1-3), the Flames rebounded with a 5-2 victory over No. 42 Old Dominion. Liberty's No. 111 Rafael Marques Da Silva picked up a challenging 7-6 (3), 6-4 victory over No. 83 Connor Van Schalkwyk.
The Flames seek to capitalize on home success, currently 7-1 playing in Lynchburg in 2024. Liberty looks to improve on a 5-11 all-time record against Richmond and a 6-7 mark against William & Mary. The Flames last met the Spiders in 2021, topping Richmond 5-2. Liberty most recently met William & Mary in 2023, taking a 4-3 triumph.
