LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames dumped the UNC Asheville Bulldogs 12-2 Tuesday afternoon at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium. The game ended in the eighth inning due to run rule.
With the score tied at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth, the Flames plated two runs to take the lead and followed with six runs in the seventh to take control of the contest.
Liberty third baseman Cam Foster collected three hits, one a double, and drove in two runs in the contest, while shortstop Tanner Marsh went 3-for-3 with an RBI and scored a run. Left fielder Noah Rabon joined the two Flames' infielders with three hits in the game. He had two doubles, an RBI and scored a run in the contest.
Liberty moves to 6-10 on the year and snaps a seven-game losing streak. UNC Asheville falls to 9-7 and sees its three-game winning streak come to an end.
