GREENVILLE, S.C. – Coming off a dramatic comeback win on Saturday, the Lady Flames tennis team falls 4-0 to Harvard in a neutral site match hosted by Furman on Sunday.
Liberty drops to 5-2 in 2024 as the Crimson improves to an 8-2 mark.
Harvard secured the doubles point despite strong comeback attempts from Liberty. The Crimson cruised through the singles round, dropping just one set across the three matches needed to secure the victory.
The Lady Flames fall in their first-ever meeting with Harvard.
The two teams met for a neutral site match on Sunday. Harvard topped Furman (1-5) 4-3 on Saturday. Liberty faces Furman on Monday at 3 p.m.

- Harvard's Stephanie Yakoff and Holly Fischer topped Liberty's No. 59 duo of Priscila Janikian and Daniella O'Neill 6-4 on court one to begin the day. The Liberty duo falls to 3-2 together in 2024.
- The Crimson clinched the doubles point in the No. 3 doubles match as Harvard's Angel You and Kavya Karra topped Sadie Daavettila and Maria Juliana Parra Romero (0-3) 6-3.
- Liberty's Marina Davtyan and Maria Turchetto were on the edge of victory against Iveta Daujotaite and Rachel Arbitman. The Lady Flames duo were about play match point up 5-3 as doubles play was called.
Singles
- Following her heroics on Saturday, O'Neill (4-2) was unable to generate enough momentum for a comeback on court four against Kim Kate, falling 6-4, 6-3.
- Harvard gained a commanding 3-0 lead in the No. 2 singles match as Fischer used a dominant second set to get past Lovato (3-3) 7-5, 6-1.
- The Crimson won the match-winning fourth point on court one as Yakoff took down Parra Romero despite a fast start from the Liberty junior. The final score in the No. 1 singles match was 1-6, 6-1, 6-1.
- At the time of the match ending, Liberty's Davtyan was facing a third set deficit to Maxi Duncan on court three. The match went unfinished with Harvard leading 6-3, 4-6, 5-2.
- Two other matches were in the middle of the first set at the completion of Sunday's contest. Liberty's Turchetto was tied 2-2 on court five and Daavettila was leading 4-1 in the No. 6 singles match.
