- This is the first matchup between the Flames and Redhawks, who are separated by 2,791 miles. Liberty is in its second year in Conference USA. Seattle U is a member of the Western Athletic Conference. Coming into the 2024-25 season, Liberty has 67 victories over the last three seasons. Seattle U has 66 wins in those three years.
- The Flames opened their season with a resounding 83-63 win over Valparaiso, Monday evening at the Total Athlete Tip-Off in Xenia, Ohio. Meanwhile, the Redhawks fell 93-86 at Eastern Washington on Wednesday.
- Liberty junior Owen Aquino, a transfer from Eastern Florida State, had a memorable debut against the Beacons with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds to go along with five blocks. Aquino was named Total Athlete Tip-Off Player of the Game.
- Aquino is the first Liberty player to notch a double-double in his Flames debut since John Brown had 18 points and 17 rebounds in his first game against Virginia Intermont on Nov. 12, 2010. Aquino's five blocks were the most by a Flame since John Dawson had five blocks at William & Mary on Nov. 26, 2016.
- The Flames' Zach Cleveland and Kaden Metheny were both named to the 2024-25 CUSA Men's Basketball Preseason All-Conference team. Cleveland stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in the opener, while Metheny poured in 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
- This is the Flames' first true road game of the year. Seven of Liberty's first eight contests are either road or neutral site matchups.
- Liberty has won 150 games in the last six-plus years, eighth most nationally.
- In addition to Aquino's memorable debut, Javyon Maughmer added 14 points in his first game as a Flame. Taelon Peter scored nine points, and Kai Yu and Brett Decker Jr. each scored three points in their respective first appearances.
- Liberty's 20-point win, 83-63, over Valparaiso on Monday was it's ninth 20-plus point win since the start of the 2023-24 season.
- Liberty shot 54.2 percent (32-of-59) for the game and made 10-of-24 three-point attempts (41.7 percent) while holding Valparaiso to 34.9 percent (22-of-63) from the field.
- This will be Liberty's fourth all-time game on Nov. 9 but first since 2012. The Flames are 0-3 all-time on this date, including an 0-1 mark under Coach McKay. Liberty's only matchup on Nov. 9 under McKay came in McKay's first-ever game as head coach of the Flames in 2007. The Flames fell to San Diego State 62-50 in the World Vision Classic in Fresno, Calif. Liberty's Rell Porter matched a game high with 14 points and added six rebounds.
