From the Media Room: Kennesaw State

Following a win over FIU and the team's scheduled bye week, Liberty Head Football Coach Jamey Chadwell met with the media on Thursday to talk about next week's Conference USA midweek game at Kennesaw State.

After Chadwell's weekly presser, Flames' quarterback Kaidon Salter and defensive end TJ Bush addressed the media from the Media Room inside the Liberty Football Center.

The Flames are 2-1 all-time against the Owls, with all three meetings coming when both teams were Big South Conference members (2015-17).

Liberty owns the nation's longest active regular-season winning streak (17 games). The Flames have also equaled the program record of six straight road victories and won 20 consecutive matchups with CUSA foes (at time of meeting).

The Flames' only contest within the last 32 days was a 31-24 overtime victory over FIU, Oct. 8 at Williams Stadium. Kaidon Salter's nine-yard TD rush put Liberty on top in overtime. The Flames then sealed the victory when Christian Bodnar forced a fumble and Jerome Jolly, Jr. recovered it.

Jamey Chadwell is in his second year at Liberty and will coach his 20th game with the Flames on Wednesday. He is 18-1 at Liberty and owns a 49-7 coaching record dating back to the start of 2020.

Running back Quinton Cooley set a career high in carries vs. FIU (29), resulting in 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He is one of four FBS running backs averaging at least 100 yards and a rushing TD per game while notching 6.5 yards/carry.

Safety Bodnar was one of two Flames' defenders who enjoyed a breakout performance vs. FIU. He and linebacker Jahmar Brown each tallied a career-best seven tackles, with three of Brown's stops being for a loss.
