
Liberty Eases Past VCU 10-0

The Liberty Flames shut out the VCU Rams 10-0, Tuesday afternoon at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
Highlighted by starting pitcher Garrett Gainey's performance, four Flames combined to record Liberty's second shutout of the season. Gainey moves to 3-0 on the year, scattering three hits over six innings. He struck out a season-high eight batters and walked one in the contest. The left-hander did not allow a runner past second base.
Flames Right fielder Camden Troyer had a game-high three hits, including two doubles, drove in two runs and scored two runs in the contest.
Liberty moves to 7-5 on the season. The Flames have won seven out of their last nine games. VCU drops to 3-9 on the year.
