
Duke Downs Liberty 7-3

Second baseman Jay Beshears broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run home run in the seventh as the Duke Blue Devils defeated the Liberty Flames 7-3, Tuesday afternoon at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium.
Knotted at 3-3 after two innings, the contest stayed that way until the seventh when Beshears, with a man aboard, hit his seventh home run of the season to put the visiting Blue Devils up 5-3. Duke added two in the ninth for the final score of 7-3.
Liberty falls to 11-13 on the season. Duke improves to 16-9.
