
Liberty Ends Play at the Georgia Tech Invite

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Liberty men's tennis team was triumphant in five of nine matches at the Georgia Tech Invite on Sunday. Liberty was one of seven teams at the three-day event including premiere programs like Georgia, Alabama, New Mexico and others. All matches were played at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
Liberty took two of three doubles matches against three separate programs to start the day. Luis Felipe Miguel and Chase Robinson topped Georgia State's pair of Baran Soyler and Edward Tymes, 8-3. Liberty's duo of Matija Samardzic and Ernst Gouws bested Georgia's Filipe Costa and Cyrus Majoob, 8-5.
The Flames picked up three singles victories out of six, also facing a variety of opponents. Rafael Marques Da Silva took down Mississippi State's Nemanja Malesevic, 6-3, 7-6 (2). Chase Robinson earned a 2-0 day after coming back after struggling in the first set to beat New Mexico's Aver Tallakson, 1-6, 7-5, 6-1. Miguel joined Robinson at 2-0 after defeating New Mexico's Nicolas Recoura,7-5, 6-1.
