AUSTIN, Texas – No. 13 Texas's defensive pressure was too much for Liberty to overcome, Sunday afternoon at Moody Center. The Longhorns forced 35 turnovers in a 75-57 victory, dealing the Lady Flames their first loss of the 2023-24 season.
Liberty falls to 2-1 despite shooting 51.2 percent (21-of-41) and outrebounding the Longhorns. The Lady Flames' first 30-turnover outing since Dec. 3, 2019 vs. East Carolina led to 33 Texas points.
Texas, now 2-0 on the young season, put four players into double figures in its first-ever meeting with Liberty. The Longhorns broke open a tight game with a 14-0 third-quarter run.

- Texas took a lead it never relinquished early with a 10-0 run, including eight points by Rori Harmon.
- Liberty pulled to within five (12-7) by the end of the period despite committing 10 turnovers. The Lady Flames held the Longhorns to 26.3 percent (5-of-19) from the field during the first 10 minutes.
- The Lady Flames shot 80 percent (8-of-10) during the second period, getting all 18 of their points from bench players. Elisabeth Aegisdottir scored seven of them, including a layup at the 1:50 mark which pulled the visitors within a single point (24-23).
- Texas pushed its advantage back to 31-25 with Shaylee Gonzales knocking down a corner triple just before the halftime buzzer sounded. The Longhorns tallied 16 points off Liberty's 15 first-half turnovers.
