    Â
The Flames dominated the visiting Monarchs from the onset, holding a 28-0 lead midway through the second quarter and a 35-3 lead at halftime.
    Â
Liberty nearly doubled up Old Dominion on the stat sheet, outgaining the visitors 455 to 280 yards. The Flames showcased their most balanced offense of the season, rushing for 230 yards and passing for 225 yards.
    Â
Liberty, who came into the day ranked No. 2 in the country in rushing offense, has now surpassed the 200-yard mark in each of its last five games and nine out of its last 10 contests.
    Â
The Military Appreciation Day game was played in front of 21,481 fans, the seventh-largest home attendance in program history. The number trailed last weekend's Homecoming attendance by only 166 (21,647) for the largest of the 2023 season.
    Â
Liberty limited Old Dominion to 280 total offensive yards (119 rushing, 161 passing), the second-lowest offensive output by a Flames' opponent this season. The Flames matched their sack (5) and tackles for a loss (11) season-high against the Monarchs.
    Â
Liberty's offense was once again led by Maxwell Award watch list member Kaidon Salter. The sophomore quarterback accounted for five touchdowns, throwing three and running for two more. He completed 13-of-22 pass attempts for 225 yards and rushed 11 times for 41 yards.
    Â
Quinton Cooley led Liberty's rushing attack with 19 carries for 85 yards. CJ Daniels posted his sixth career 100-yard game and fifth of 2023 with seven receptions for 137 yards and caught two of Salter's three touchdown passes.
    Â
Liberty's defensive line controlled the game for the Flames, with defensive tackle Bryce Dixon (eight tackles, 1.0 sacks, 1.5 TFLs) and defensive end CJ Bazile, Jr. (seven tackles, 1.5 TFLs) leading with career days. Liberty had recorded only 17 sacks in its first nine games this year.

- Improves the Flames' all-time record when ranked inside the FBS Top 25 to 5-2.
- Gives the Flames their seventh season with six or more home wins and first since 2020 (6-0).

First Quarter
- Liberty jumped out early, scoring for the seventh time on its opening possession this season. On fourth-and-four from near midfield, Kaidon Salter lofted a long pass to CJ Daniels, who was able to leap over a defender to pull down a 43-yard touchdown at 11:30.
- Taking advantage of a short field after a seven-yard punt by the Monarchs, Liberty pushed its lead to 14-0 at 5:44 on a two-yard rushing touchdown by Salter. All each play of the six-play, 54-yard drive, were on the ground, capped by Salter's eighth rushing touchdown of 2023.
- Liberty's ground attack extended the home team's lead to 21-0 at the 11:20 mark of the second quarter. Ten of the 11 plays of the 57-yard scoring drive came on the ground, including a four-yard touchdown scamper by Salter.
- The Flames scored twice more before the halftime break and took a 35-3 lead into the intermission. Salter threw two more touchdown passes, including a 42-yarder to Noah Frith at 7:03 and an eight-yard scoring play to Daniels with 54 seconds left before half.
- Old Dominion had its most successful drive of the first half stall just as they got to the red zone, forcing the Monarchs to settle for a 38-yard field goal by Ethan Sanchez at 4:20.
- Liberty tacked on three more points later in the third quarter when Nick Brown connected on a 40-yard field goal at 4:13. Brown's first field goal since Oct. 10 capped an eight-play, 39-yard drive for the Flames.
- Old Dominion accounted for the game's final score when Grant Wilson capped a 10-play, 56-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown pass to Javon Harvey with 1:27 left to play in the contest.
The Flames will wrap up their regular season home schedule and play their final non-conference game next Saturday when Liberty welcomes UMass to Williams Stadium. Prior to the 1 p.m. kickoff, the Flames will honor their 16-member senior class on Senior Day.
