
Liberty Closes out Flames Hidden Dual

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Lady Flames picked up three wins on Sunday to finish the Flames Hidden Dual. Liberty went 16-18 overall with a 10-13 singles record and a 6-5 doubles record.
Liberty hosted the five-time team, weekend event with participants including Campbell, Delaware, East Carolina and Elon.
On Sunday playing primarily against East Carolina, Liberty won two singles matches by Esther Lovato and Daniella O'Neill. The Lady Flames were 1-3 on the doubles front with Lovato and Tiffany Nguyen picking up a victory over ECU's Kexuan Zhou and Martina Muzzolon 7-5.
After securing career singles win No. 100 on Saturday, Lovato finished the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record (4-0 singles). Lovato took down ECU's Kim Auerswald 6-3, 6-0.
Marina Davtyan's undefeated fall comes to an end. The senior had a 5-0 singles record entering the day. Davtyan was defeated by Delaware's Slade Coetzee 6-4, 7-5.

Liberty's next event will be hosting the ITA Regional Tournament beginning on Oct. 18. The event will be held at the Liberty Tennis Complex beginning at 9 a.m. each day.

- Lovato added to her all-time Liberty singles win record with three singles wins across the event. The senior was the only undefeated Lady Flame across both days of the Flames Hidden Dual.
- After taking her first singles loss of the season, Davtyan's record moves to 5-1.
- O'Neill went 2-0 in singles play over the weekend in her first singles action since returning from an injury. The redshirt freshman took down ECU's Anne Lou Champion.
- Freshman Maria Turchetto battled in her singles match. Turchetto was defeated in three sets by ECU's Ines Bachir el Bouhali 6-0, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5). The freshman was 2-1 in singles matches across the event.
- Following a 2-0 singles run on Saturday, Nguyen was taken down by ECU's Martina Muzzolon 6-4, 7-6 (3).
- Freshman, Sadie Daavittila, was 1-3 on Saturday, picking up a victory on doubles with Esther Lovato. The two took down Elon's Mariana Reding and Miray Konar 6-3.
