
Salter Added to Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award’s Midseason Watch

National recognition continues to increase for Liberty's Kaidon Salter, who has led the Flames to an 8-0 start and a spot in the CUSA Championship game.
Salter has been added to the 2023 Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award's Midseason Watch. The sophomore is one of 65 quarterbacks in the country who have been named to the midseason watch list.
The watch list will be narrowed down to the Davey O'Brien QB Class of 2023 on Tuesday, October 31. Those 35 quarterbacks will officially remain in the running for the 2023 Davey O'Brien Award.
Salter is one of the top offensive threats in Conference USA, averaging 284.5 total offensive yards per game.
The quarterback ranks No. 1 in the country in passing yards per completion (16.96), No. 3 in points responsible for (156) and No. 5 in points responsible per game (19.5).
The native of Cedar Hill, Texas, also ranks No. 6 in the country in passing efficiency (176.2) and No. 7 in passing touchdowns (19). He ranks second in the country in total rushing yards by a quarterback (614).
On the year, Salter has completed 98-of-167 pass attempts (58.7 percent) for 1,662 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also ranks second on the team in rushing yards and is tied for the team lead with seven rushing touchdowns.
Salter is 8-0 as Liberty's starting quarterback this year and 10-2 overall as a starting quarterback for the Flames during the last two years.

The top vote getters on each of the three social media platforms will receive bonus committee votes which will be added to the ballots cast by our National Selection Committee.
Bonus votes will be tallied and issued during semifinalist, finalist and winner voting rounds. The first round of voting will begin Tuesday, Oct. 31 following our QB Class announcement.
