Before continuing to prepare for their final regular season midweek game, the Flames visited the Media Room in the Liberty Football Center on Friday to preview the upcoming matchup against Western Kentucky.
Along with Flames' head coach Jamey Chadwell, the media spoke with offensive lineman Jordan White and defensive back Preston Hodge.
The Flames are 3-0 all-time against WKU, including 2-0 in Bowling Green, Ky. Most recently, Liberty opened its 2020 campaign with a 30-24 win at WKU.
Liberty has won 13 straight matchups with CUSA opponents (at time of meeting) overall, including its 5-0 start to conference play. The Flames are the first team ever to win their first five conference games as CUSA members.
Jamey Chadwell is the first Liberty head football coach ever to begin his tenure with the Flames at 7-0. He was recently named to the Paul "Bear" Bryant Coach of the Year Award watch list.
Liberty QB Kaidon Salter recently joined the Manning Award Watch List. He is coming off a career-high 160-yard effort on the ground vs. Middle Tennessee, the second-most rushing yards ever posted by a Flames QB.
The Flames rank No. 2 nationally in rushing offense (274.6 ypg), coming off a season-high 401-yard effort vs. Middle Tennessee. RB Quinton Cooley, who rushed for three TDs versus the Blue Raiders, has notched four straight 100-yard games.
Liberty has recorded a nation-leading 15 INTs this year, with S Brylan Green sharing the NCAA's No. 1 spot with five. Green recorded one of the Flames' two fourth-quarter picks to seal a 42-35 victory over Middle Tennessee.
