LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames rallied but could not find the equalizer, falling to the Lindenwood Lions 2-1 in an Ohio Valley Conference match, Thursday evening at Osborne Stadium.
The visiting Lions took a 2-0 lead scoring off two counterattacks late into the match, only to see the Flames cut into their advantage with a goal in the 78th minute. Liberty's Carlos Trott headed in a corner kick by Gora Gora to trim the visitors' edge to 2-1.
The Flames pushed forward over the final minutes of the contest, firing four shots but could not get the equalizer.
Liberty drops to 3-3-1 in OVC play and 8-5-1 overall. Lindenwood moves to 3-1-3 in OVC action and 6-4-5 overall.
