LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames men's soccer team will travel to our nation's capital, Washington, D.C., for a match against the American Eagles on Sunday. Match time is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Reeves Field.
After a tie at Georgia Southern on Wednesday, Liberty will enter the match at 1-2-1 on the season. Meanwhile, American is 0-2-2 on the year.

- Liberty and American will meet for the first time since 2018 on Sunday. The two squads have met six times, with the Flames leading the all-time series with a 4-1-1 mark.
- Liberty enters Sunday's match with a 1-2-1 record. The Flames tied Georgia Southern 1-1 in Statesboro, Ga., on Wednesday. It was the first draw of the season for Liberty.
- American will be the third straight team that Liberty has played with the mascot the Eagles. The Flames hosted the FGCU Eagles last Friday and played at the Georgia Southern Eagles on Wednesday.

- Dan Rose has manned the Liberty goal throughout its four games. The goalkeeper has posted a 2.00 goals-against average and a .529 save percentage over the four games.
- The Flames have players from 13 different countries and six different continents.
- Liberty head coach Scott Wells is in his first season with the Flames. He previously coached at Gardner-Webb, leading the Runnin' Bulldogs to the Big South Conference Championship in 2024.
- Liberty will participate in the Southern Conference (SoCon) this season after three years as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC).
