Parra Romero, Lovato Fall in Final Pre-Qualifying Matches

CARY, N.C. – Maria Juliana Parra Romero and Esther Lovato both fell on Sunday, ending their run at the ITA Women's All-American Championships.
Lovato was looking to build off a momentous win yesterday over NC State's Gina Dittman. The senior was matched up with No. 104 DJ Bennett from Auburn. Lovato secured the first set, but she was unable to hold off the SEC All-Freshman team selection. The final score was 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in favor of Bennett.
Parra Romero played from the consolation end of the pre-qualifying after falling to UC Santa Barbara's Camille Kiss 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 on Saturday. The sophomore was matched up against Duke's Katie Codd. Parra Romero battled back after dropping the first set but came up short in the third set, ultimately falling 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
