Marques Da Silva Goes 3-1 in Qualifying Matches at ITA All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. – Rafael Marques Da Silva went 1-1 on Sunday, moving to 3-1 overall at the ITA Men's All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Three other Flames played today with Deji Thomas-Smith picking up a win on the consolation side of the bracket.
Thando Longwe- Smit and Luis Felipe Miguel also played today.
Marques Da Silva rolled in his match with Virginia Tech's Alberto Orso 6-2, 6-2. The senior won all of his pre-qualifying matches setting himself up well for main draw play beginning Monday. Marques Da Silva then faced LSU freshman Rudy Checcon, falling in three sets 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
Thomas-Smith picked up a comeback win over Hoftra's Ostap Kovalenko 4-6, 7-5, 6-4. The senior went 1-1 over the weekend.
Longwe-Smit went winless in singles this weekend, but he will play with Marques Da Silva in doubles play starting Monday.
After picking up a win on Saturday, Miguel was taken down by Texas A&M's JC Roddick 6-2, 6-2.
