Liberty’s Top Storylines
• Liberty (10-7, 4-2 ASUN) will play host to ASUN-leading FGCU (18-2, 6-0 ASUN), Saturday evening at Liberty Arena.
• The Lady Flames are 0-11 all-time against the Eagles, including a 70-53 setback at FGCU in the conference opener on Jan. 2. Liberty is 58-11 against all other ASUN teams over the last five years.
• Liberty has won six straight home games, never trailing during that span. Meanwhile, FGCU is 7-0 on the road this year and has won 38 consecutive road contests against ASUN opponents.
• Mya Berkman leads the Lady Flames in points (14.3 ppg) and rebounds (7.5 rpg) while ranking No. 1 nationally for field goal percentage (71.6). She has scored in double figures in a career-best eight straight contests overall and in each of her last three matchups with FGCU.
• The Lady Flames are coming off a 77-50 home win over Stetson on Thursday where they set season highs for field goal percentage (60.8) and three-pointers (11). Liberty struggled offensively at FGCU on Jan. 2, tallying just 16 first-half points and shooting 18.2 percent (2-of-11) from three-point range.
Notes and Anecdotes – Liberty vs. FGCU
• On Saturday, Liberty will seek its first-ever win over ASUN-leading FGCU. The Eagles are the only ASUN team the Lady Flames have faced but never defeated.
• The Lady Flames are 0-11 against the Eagles, including 0-3 in Lynchburg. Liberty is 58-11 versus all other ASUN foes during its five seasons in the league.
• FGCU is tied with Mount St. Mary's as the opponent Liberty has faced the most often in program history without a win. The Lady Flames went 0-11 versus Mount St. Mary's during the 1980s.
• Liberty's three home losses to FGCU have been decided by an average of 6.0 ppg.
• The Lady Flames' 17-point loss at FGCU in the conference opener marks the closest any ASUN team has come to the Eagles this year. FGCU is winning its conference games by an average of 31.3 ppg.
• Liberty has won six straight home games and has not trailed at any time at Liberty Arena since its season-opening loss to Richmond on Nov. 7. In order to keep the streak going, the Lady Flames will have to defeat an FGCU squad which is 7-0 on the road this season, brings a 10-game winning streak into Liberty Arena and has not lost an ASUN road game since Feb. 1, 2018 at North Florida (38 straight wins).
Thursday's Tidbits
• Liberty set season highs for field goal percentage (60.8) and three-pointers (11) as the Lady Flames scored the most points they ever have against Stetson (77).
• Audrey Clark scored a season-high 12 points on a career-high four triples. It was her most points since tallying 14 at North Alabama in the 2020 ASUN semifinals.
• Emma Hess tallied 12 points, reaching double digits against an ASUN Conference opponent for the first time in her career.
Home Sweet Home
• The Lady Flames have won six consecutive contests at Liberty Arena, improving to 6-1 at home this season and 34-3 all-time at the facility.
• FGCU is the only ASUN team to top the Lady Flames at Liberty Arena, winning its only visit to date (Feb. 24, 2022).
