Liberty’s Top Storylines
• Liberty (9-7, 3-2 ASUN) will tip off a two-game homestand on Thursday with its only matchup against Stetson (8-10, 2-3 ASUN) this season.
• The Lady Flames have won six consecutive meetings with the Hatters to take a 6-3 lead in the all-time head-to-head series.
• Liberty enters the week on a five-game home winning streak, improving to 33-3 all-time at Liberty Arena. The Lady Flames have won each of their last four home contests against Stetson.
• Mya Berkman leads the Lady Flames in points (14.4 ppg) and rebounds (7.7 rpg) while ranking No. 1 nationally for field goal percentage (70.3). She has scored in double figures in a career-best seven straight contests and averaged 15.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg in two wins over Stetson a year ago.
• Point guard Kennedi Williams is coming off an 11-point, six-assist performance in Saturday's 65-53 triumph at Jacksonville. She has distributed 5+ assists in six of the last seven games. Last season, Williams averaged 10.0 ppg and 6.5 apg during the Lady Flames' two matchups with Stetson.
Notes and Anecdotes – Liberty vs. Stetson
• Thursday will mark the 10th all-time meeting between Liberty and Stetson and the teams' only matchup of the 2022-23 regular season.
• Stetson won its first three matchups with the Lady Flames, two of which came at the Vines Center. Since then, Liberty has posted a six-game winning streak in the head-to-head series with four of those triumphs coming in Lynchburg.
• Only one team has reached the 70-point mark in eight previous Liberty-Stetson matchups as ASUN Conference foes. The Lady Flames posted a 73-53 home win over the Hatters on Feb. 22, 2020.
• Liberty and Stetson are the two most recent teams to break up FGCU's stranglehold on ASUN regular-season and tournament titles. Stetson won the 2016-17 ASUN regular-season crown, while Liberty shared the 2020 ASUN Tournament championship with the Eagles after the title game was cancelled due to COVID-19.
• Liberty is 5-1 at home this season, including 2-0 in ASUN Conference games. Stetson is 1-4 on the road, including 0-2 in ASUN tilts.
• This will be the fifth out of the last six Liberty-Stetson matchups to take place in Lynchburg. The Lady Flames have only visited the Edmunds Center once since Jan. 25, 2020.
Saturday's Superlatives
• Liberty's 65-53 victory at Jacksonville marked the Lady Flames' 10th consecutive win over the Dolphins and snapped JU's eight-game home winning streak.
• Bella Smuda's team-high 15 points equaled her season high, set six days earlier during another victory over Jacksonville. She also scored her 500th career point in the process.
• Fellow center Mya Berkman tallied 11 of her 13 points after halftime. She has scored in double figures in seven straight games, the longest streak of her career.
At Home in the ASUN
• Liberty is 57-22 against ASUN Conference opponents since joining the league prior to the 2018-19 season, including 32-6 at home.
• The Lady Flames are 28-6 in ASUN Conference home games and 4-0 in ASUN Championship contests played in Lynchburg.
• The Lady Flames are 18-1 versus ASUN opponents at Liberty Arena, including 17-1 in conference play and 1-0 in the ASUN Championship.
