For the second-straight year, Liberty Athletics had the best overall winning percentage among Division I programs in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Earlier today, the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) declared Liberty Athletics the winner of the 2021-22 Virginia All-State Sports Championship.
Liberty finished this past athletics year with an overall winning percentage of 65.4 percent (235 wins, 124 losses, one tie).
Liberty's men's athletics programs had a winning percentage of 59.6 percent (87-59-0), while the women's programs had a 69.4 winning percentage (148-65-1). The Lady Flames also finished atop the women's all-sport standings, aided by the most overall wins in the women's all-sport standings.
After having never won the all-state honor previously, Liberty Athletics has been declared the Virginia All-State Sports Championship the last two years.
"We are blessed with incredible support from President Prevo and our University leadership," said Liberty Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. "Our coaches, staff and student-athletes have performed exceptionally well over the past two years, and God has shown us much favor."
The last athletics program in the Commonwealth to repeat as VaSID All-State Sports Championships was James Madison in 2016-17 and 2017-18.
