Nguyen and Ode Mitre Win All 3 Doubles Matches on First Day of Home Hidden Dual

The Liberty doubles team of Tiffany Nguyen and Micaela Ode Mitre won all three of their doubles matches on the opening day of Liberty Hidden Dual #2, Saturday at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center.
Nguyen and Ode Mitre won their doubles matches against opponents from James Madison, Delaware and Virginia Tech. The Lady Flames played three doubles sessions today and claimed six total victories. In one singles session this afternoon, Liberty was victorious in two matches.
Key Stats & Notes
• Nguyen and Ode Mitre's three doubles triumphs saw the duo win 18 games and lost eight while facing opponents from James Madison, Delaware and Virginia Tech. The duo improves to 5-0 this fall and 42-15 all-time as a pairing.
• Nguyen and Ode Mitre started their morning with a 6-1 victory over JMU's Daria Afanasyeva and Ines Olveira. Their next win came over the Delaware Blue Hens' Toni Nelson and Julieta Honrubia Andrino, 6-4. Nguyen and Ode Mitre topped the Virginia Tech Hokies' Semra Aksu and Hayley Glen 6-3.
• Liberty's other doubles victories today came from three different pairings: Bruna Sampaio/Maretha Burger, Priscila Janikian/Sampaio and Marina Davtyan/Esther Lovato. Davtyan and Lovato's victory was a 6-0 result over the JMU Dukes' Lynelle Lim and Hayley Glen.
• Lovato improved to 4-0 in singles this fall with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph over JMU's Kylie Moulin. The Austin, Texas native's win was the 72nd of her Liberty career. Lovato holds a 72-12 career singles mark for a .857 winning percentage. Lovato's 72 wins are third most in program history.
• Liberty's other singles victory on Saturday came from Ode Mitre. The junior from Lima, Peru downed JMU's Hope Moulin in comeback fashion, 5-7, 7-6 (6), 1-0 (12-10). Ode Mitre is 3-0 in singles, this fall.
• Liberty posted a 6-6 record in doubles and 2-7 mark in singles.

Day two of the Liberty Hidden Dual will begin at 8 a.m. and features two rounds of singles. All matches will be played at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center.
