
Liberty Student-Athletes Receive 465 Academic Honors During 2020-21 School Year

2020-21 Liberty Athletics Academic Awards
Liberty Athletics finished the 2020-21 school year with a combined 465 total individual and team academic honors.
Liberty's 465 awards eclipses last year's total of 441. For a second straight year, the Liberty women's track & field squad led all teams in academic awards with 72. The Flames men's track & field team paced all men's teams with 44 awards.
Major academic accomplishments from Liberty Athletics during the 2020-21 academic year include:
• 2 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans - Aaron Anderson (Baseball) and Jovaine Atkinson (Men's Track & Field)
• 3.29 Cumulative GPA after fall semester (highest in Liberty Athletics history)
• 3.27 Cumulative GPA after spring semester (second highest in Liberty Athletics history)
• 19 out of 20 teams with a 3.0 or above cumulative team GPA
• 44 Student-Athletes with a 4.0 cumulative GPA
• 136 Student-Athletes completing their degrees
• 249 Student-Athletes on the ASUN Academic Honor Roll
• 393 Student-Athletes with 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
• 465 Total Academic Honors in 2020-21
Liberty's Academic Affairs for Athletics staff seamlessly continued to walk alongside Liberty student-athletes during their academic, athletic, social and spiritual development journeys in a 2020-21 school year that saw many unique challenges, including virtual learning environments.
The Academic Affairs for Athletics staff continued to pivot throughout the year, putting Liberty's student-athletes into the best environment to flourish.
