Lady Flames Tennis to Host Lipscomb, North Alabama for Pair of ASUN Matches

Liberty will play its first home matches in nearly a month when it hosts Lipscomb and North Alabama.
The Lady Flames (13-4, 3-0 ASUN), who lead the ASUN North Division, will welcome Lipscomb (7-7, 2-1 ASUN) for a Thursday match at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. On Saturday, Liberty will host North Alabama (5-10, 1-2 ASUN) in a 10 a.m. match at the Liberty Tennis Complex.
Liberty has not competed on its home courts since March 6, a 5-2 victory for the Lady Flames over the William & Mary Tribe.
Liberty enters Thursday's match having won three of its last four matches. The Lady Flames split a pair of matches last weekend. Liberty lost 4-3 at Marshall on Saturday before rebounding to defeat Bellarmine 6-1, Sunday.
Lipscomb comes into Thursday's match a game behind Liberty, as the Bisons are 2-1 in the ASUN. The Bisons topped North Alabama 5-2 in their most recent contest, last Sunday.
North Alabama, in third place in the ASUN North Division, swept Bellarmine 7-0 for its one conference win so far.
Lady Flames News and Notes
• Liberty is 5-0 at home this spring. The Lady Flames are 3-0 at the Liberty Indoor Tennis Center and 2-0 at Crosswhite Athletic Club. Saturday's match versus North Alabama will be Liberty's first home outdoor match of the season.
• Liberty and Lipscomb faced off on March 21 at the Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center in
Nashville, Tenn. The Lady Flames picked up a 4-3 win versus the Bisons and improved to 3-0 in the all-time series.
• The Lady Flames and UNA Lions met on March 19 at the UNA Varsity Tennis Courts in Florence, Ala. Liberty topped UNA 5-2. The Lady Flames are 2-0 all-time against the Lions.
• Liberty was selected to finish second in the 2021 ASUN Women's Tennis Preseason Coaches Poll. Lipscomb was picked to finish fifth, and North Alabama was voted to finish seventh.
• The Lady Flames' Esther Lovato entered the singles national rankings last week at No. 123 in the nation. Lovato went 2-0 in singles as a ranked player last week to improve to 16-0 on the season but is unranked this week.
• Liberty is 9-1 in ASUN Conference regular season matches since joining the league prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year.
