Football Game Notes vs. Middle Tennessee
Press Conference: Head Coach Hugh Freeze
Press Conference: Defensive Coordinator/LB Coach Scott Symons
Liberty Head Football Coach Hugh Freeze held his weekly press conference, Monday, from the Media Room of the Liberty Football Center.
During the weekly press event, Freeze reflected on Liberty’s 36-12 road win at UAB and previewed the Flames’ Homecoming Weekend game against Middle Tennessee.
Liberty (4-1) returns to Williams Stadium on Saturday, playing host to Middle Tennessee (2-3, 1-2 C-USA) for the Flames' annual Homecoming contest.
It has been 39 years since the only previous meeting between the two teams, a 27-7 Middle Tennessee triumph in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Sept. 18, 1982. The Blue Raiders visit Lynchburg for the first time, where Liberty has won a program-record 13 straight home games.
After its 36-12 victory at UAB last Saturday, Liberty is 2-0 versus Conference USA opponents this season. The Flames have won five straight meetings with C-USA foes, improving to 6-1 all-time against league members.
