Flames Junior Worst Wins Group at ITA Atlantic Super Regional

Liberty men’s tennis junior Christiaan Worst posted a 2-1 singles record to win his group at the ITA Atlantic Super Regional.
Worst, entered in the Virginia pod, topped Radford’s Dimosthenis Tarmonlis 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday. Both players finished with 2-1 records in the group, but Worst took first place because of his head-to-head win over Taramonlis.
This concludes the Flames’ time at the Super Regional, hosted by Old Dominion at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center.
Key Stats & Notes
• The Flames finished the event with a 4-4 singles record and 0-3 doubles mark.
• With two wins in three matches this weekend, Worst improves to 4-4 during the fall campaign.
• Worst and his doubles partner, Deji Thomas-Smith, dropped an 8-3 decision to ODU’s Younes Lalami and Oliver Nolan.
• Liberty’s Josh Wilson and Thomas-Smith both made the singles main draw round of 16 yesterday.
