McCaw Provides Media with COVID-19 Update

Liberty University Director of Athletics Ian McCaw took time from his list of other virtual meetings to hold a virtual press conference with the Flames' local and regional media outlets on Wednesday.
During his 20-plus Zoom meeting with the media, McCaw discussed how the Liberty University Athletics Department is working to support its student-athletes, coaches and administrators following the suspension of practice and competition due to the COVID-19 virus.
After consulting with its Presidents' Council, the ASUN Conference announced on March 13 it was canceling the remainder its spring sports competition season due to the growing concerns related to the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The decision by the ASUN Conference brought to a close the competitive seasons for Liberty's baseball, softball, men's golf, men's tennis, women's tennis, women's lacrosse and men's and women's outdoor track & field programs.
Additionally, Liberty Athletics canceled its annual Spring Football game, which was scheduled for April 4, and suspended spring football practice indefinitely.
