Strong post play and rebounding have long been staples of Carey Green-coached teams. Hoping to continue that tradition will be 6-5 post player Emily Howard, who has signed a national letter of intent to attend Liberty University for the 2021-22 academic year.
Emily Howard (C, 6-5, Vancouver, British Columbia)
Howard originally hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, but now lives with her family in Memphis, Tenn. She helped Harding Academy record its second straight 26-win season in 2019-20, averaging 15.7 ppg, 9.7 rpg and 2.4 bpg. Howard was named District Player of the Year as a junior and earned her second consecutive Daily Memphian Division 2 All-Metro Team honor.
Howard is part of an athletic family, with older brothers Luke (Lipscomb) and Anthony (Trevecca Nazarene) currently playing college basketball. She also plays volleyball, earning All-Metro accolades in 2019.
"I'm blessed to have the opportunity to move to the great state of Virginia to play for and attend Liberty University," Howard expressed. "I look forward to playing for Coach Green and all of the other awesome coaching staff and developing new friendships! Go Flames!"
