• Liberty and Florida Gulf Coast will meet for the first time on the diamond with the ASUN regular season title at stake. The winner of the three-game series will be the conference's regular season champion and the tournament's top seed. FGCU, 14-6 in conference play, enters the weekend a half of a game in front of Liberty, 14-7 in conference action, in the ASUN Standings.
• Tuesday evening, Liberty completed their home schedule with a 3-2 win over Duke at Liberty Baseball Stadium. The Flames finish the year with a 25-5 mark at the facility, the best mark in the seven-year history of the stadium.
• With Tuesday evening's victory, Liberty head coach Scott Jackson record the 100th victory of his career. This season, the three-year coach has lead the Flames to the most wins by a Liberty since the Flames won 41 in 2014.
• Liberty enters the weekend with an 11-11 mark on the road. The Flames have won three of their last four road contests.
Jackson Reaches 100
• Liberty head coach Scott Jackson reached career win 100 with the Flames 3-2 win over Duke, Tuesday night at Liberty Baseball Stadium. The Flames' skipper has guided Liberty to a 100-65 record during his three seasons in Lynchburg.
• The sixth head coach in school history, the Flames posted 32 wins in each of his first two seasons on Liberty Mountian. Meanwhile this seaosn, Liberty has won 36 games, the most victories in a season since 2014 when the Flames won 41.
Around the Diamond
- Jonathan Embry enters the weekend, leading the ASUN with 50 runs scored and walks with 46.
- Logan Mathieu leads the Flames and is second in the ASUN Conference with 45 RBI.
- Will Wagner leads the Flames with a .326 batting average. He has had at least one hit in each of his last four games. The sophomore has recorded multi-hit games in the last two contests and has 15 for the season.
- Tyler Galazin has hit .313 with seven RBI over the last 10 games. He has at least one hit in each of his last six games, including an infield single which scored the go-ahead run in Liberty's 3-2 win, Tuesday evening.
- Cam Locklear leads the Flames with 16 multi-hit games. In the field, the junior leads the ASUN Conference in fielding assists with 148.
- Gray Betts is second in the ASUN Conference with a .451 on base percentage. He has reached base safely in 27 consecutive games.
- Jaylen Guy made ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays on May 10, throwing out a Blue Devil trying to score in the seventh inning. The freshman also had two hits and scored a run in the contest.
- Brandon Rohrer has hit .329 with 12 RBI and 18 runs scored in Liberty's 21 ASUN Conference games.
- Ben Highfill posted career-highs with four hits and four runs scored in the Flames' 14-10 victory over Kennesaw State in game one of a doubleheader on May 5. Highfill had two doubles and also an RBI in the contest.
- Garret Price combined with starter Noah Skirrow to throw Liberty's seventh shutout of the season on Sunday. Price allowed one hit during his two-inning relief stint in the contest. He has now been involved in four of the Flames' seven shutouts. Price enters the week third in the ASUN Conference with a 2.68 ERA.
- Noah Skirrow enters the week tied for third in the ASUN with 88 strike outs.
