Alzheimer's Awareness Night
Tuesday evening, the Liberty baseball program is holding its annual Alzheimer's Awareness Night. The Flames are helping to lead the way to Alzheimer's first survivor by participating in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's®. The Flame hope to shed a light on the disease and raise money to find a cure.
Currently more than five million Americans have the disease and the number is expected to grow to as many as 16 million by 2050. One in three seniors has Alzheimer's and the disease is the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States. In addition, more than 16 million Americans were caregivers to a person with Alzheimer's or dementia in 2018.

Monies donated through the Alzheimer's Association's various drives provide care and support to all those facing Alzheimer's, research toward treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure, and speaks up for the needs and rights of people affected by Alzheimer's.
