The Starting 5 - Liberty's Top Storylines
• ASUN fourth-place team Liberty (9-12, 5-3 ASUN) will play host to third-place Stetson (11-11, 6-2 ASUN) Tuesday morning.
• Liberty has won five games in a row despite an injury to starting point guard Ashtyn Baker. Meanwhile, Stetson is on a four-game winning streak with ASUN Preseason Player of the Year Sarah Sagerer sidelined.
• Liberty is 0-2 all-time against Stetson, including a 69-52 road setback to the Hatters on Jan. 8. The Lady Flames shot a season-low 29.5 percent from the field that night.
• Bridgette Rettstatt played well during the first meeting with Stetson, posting her first career double-double (12 points, 10 rebounds). Rettstatt has scored in double figures in seven of eight ASUN games, including a trio of double-doubles.
• Kierra Johnson-Graham did a bit of everything during Liberty's wins over Lipscomb and NJIT last week. For the week, she led the Lady Flames in points (16.5), rebounds (9.5) and steals (2.0) while sharing the team lead in assists (4.5).
Notes and Anecdotes - Liberty vs. Stetson
• Liberty will host Stetson at the Vines Center for the first time since Dec. 6, 1996, looking for a split of the regular-season series with the Hatters.
• Both teams have played well in recent weeks with key players sidelined due to injury. Liberty has won five games in a row with 2018 Big South Freshman of the Year Ashtyn Baker out of action, and the Lady Flames have also been without 2018 Big South Player of the Year Keyen Green for the entire season.
• Meanwhile, Stetson enters Tuesday's game on a four-game winning streak and is 5-2 since Preseason ASUN Player of the Year Sarah Sagerer suffered a season-ending injury during the Hatters' Jan. 8 matchup with Liberty.
• During the teams' first matchup, Stetson Head Coach Lynn Bria won her 200th game with the Hatters. On Tuesday, Liberty Head Coach Carey Green has a chance to record win No. 450 with the Lady Flames.
• Stetson is just 2-9 when playing away from home this season.
• Liberty will look to control the boards on Tuesday. The Lady Flames rank No. 2 in the ASUN with a +6.0 rebound margin while Stetson ranks No. 8 at -5.6. Liberty owned a slim 38-34 rebounding advantage during the teams' first meeting.
Keys to the Streak
• After winning just four of their first 16 contests to start the season, the Lady Flames are currently riding a five-game winning streak.
• Liberty has played well offensively during the streak, averaging 71.2 ppg and 18.4 apg while shooting 46.6 percent from the field.
• Four Lady Flames are averaging double figures, including Emily Lytle (15.8 ppg), Bridgette Rettstatt (13.4 ppg), KK Barbour (12.0 ppg) and Kierra Johnson-Graham (10.2 ppg).
Liberty vs. the Sunshine State
• Liberty is 5-10 all-time when facing opponents from Florida, including 2-5 this season. The Lady Flames have won each of their last two meetings with Sunshine State opponents, including a 69-53 home win over North Florida on Jan. 19 and an 85-75 overtime victory at Jacksonville on Jan. 26.
Liberty vs. the ASUN
• Liberty is 13-10 all-time versus ASUN Conference opponents (at the time of the meeting).
• The Lady Flames' most recent ASUN matchup prior to this season was a 70-27 victory over Lipscomb on Nov. 26, 2011 at the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament in Nashville, Tenn.
• Liberty owns a 6-4 record against current ASUN members, including wins over Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb (2x), NJIT and North Florida and losses to FGCU, Jacksonville and Stetson (2x).
