Liberty men's tennis is set for two matches against opponents from the state of Virginia, taking on Richmond and VCU over the weekend.
The Liberty Flames (4-7) and VCU Rams (6-4) will square off at the Thalhimer Tennis Center at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Richmond, Va. On Sunday night, the Flames will take on the Richmond Spiders (8-2) in a neutral-site match at 6 p.m. at Virginia's Boar's Head Sports Club in Charlottesville, Va.
Liberty and Richmond are meeting for the second straight year. In 2018, the Spiders topped the Flames 4-3 in Lynchburg. Liberty and VCU have not met since 1991. The Rams are 3-0 in the all-time series.

Flames News and Notes
- Liberty sophomore Nicaise Muamba received his third ASUN Men's Tennis Player of the Week honor on Wednesday. Muamba, the 99th-ranked singles player in the nation, has now received the award in back-to-back weeks.
- The Flames have taken the doubles point in five straight matches. During that stretch, junior Vince Salas and Steve Mundt have a 5-0 overall record (4-0 No. 3 doubles, 1-0 No. 2).
- Junior Chase Burton has the most singles victories (54) of any Flame over the past three seasons. The Naples, Fla., native is tied for second on this year's squad with 13 triumphs.
- The Flames are in the early stages of a seven-match road trip which will wrap up at ASUN foe North Alabama, March 25. Liberty's inaugural ASUN home match is on March 30 against Lipscomb.
- Liberty is in search of its first road victory of the year. The Flames are a perfect 3-0 at home and 1-1 in neutral-site matches, but they are 0-6 away from home in 2019.
