Malibu 25k ITF Futures Day 1
Flames' Muamba and Ferreira Both Drop Qualifying Matches, Monday

Liberty Flames tennis players Nicaise Muamba and Goncalo Ferreira both dropped their first qualifying matches at the Malibu 25k ITF Futures event at Pepperdine's Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center, Monday afternoon.
Muamba fell 6-1, 6-2 to Pepperdine sophomore Enrique Luque Rico in his match. Liberty's Ferreira dropped a back-and-forth three-set match to UCLA freshman Drew Baird, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8). Baird and his doubles partner, Keegan Smith, are currently ranked 12th in the nation in doubles. This concludes the Flames' time at the tournament.
Liberty will wrap up its fall slate by hosting the Flames Invitational, Friday through Sunday at the Cook Tennis Center.
