Although the season ended abruptly, the Liberty men's basketball team was having one of its best years in school history, winning a school-record 30 games and ending its season winning an ASUN Championship at home in the last game at the Vines Center.
Liberty Notables
- Liberty won a school-record 30 games, which was tied for the second most in Division I this season (Gonzaga won 31 games).
- Liberty ended 2020 with the sixth highest winning percentage (.882) in Division I, going 30-4.
- Liberty received eight votes in the final USA Today Coaches Poll.
- In the final AP Top 25 Poll, Liberty received one vote.
- Liberty finished at No. 4 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll.
- Liberty had six neutral site wins, which ranked No. 2 in Division I.
- Liberty went undefeated at home for the first time in school history, winning 17 home games, the second most in Division I.
- Liberty has now won 23 straight games at home, which is the fourth longest home winning streak in the country.
- Liberty's 14-0 start was the best in school history, surpassing the 1974 team who started 6-0.
- Fourteen wins was the longest winning streak in school history, surpassing the 1980 team who won 11 games in a row.
- Liberty became the ninth team to win back-to-back ASUN Championship titles and first to do so since FGCU in 2016-17.
- Liberty has won back-to-back conference regular season titles for the first time in school history.
- Liberty clinched back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths for the first time in school history.
- Liberty was one of three schools (Cincinnati and Michigan) to have two current players with 100 career wins in Myo Baxter-Bell (101 wins) and Georgie Pacheco-Ortiz (102 wins).

Player Highlights
- Caleb Homesley was named ASUN Player of the Year, joining Jesse Sanders as the only Liberty players to earn a conference player of the year honor, as Sanders was named Big South Player of the Year in 2011.
- Homesley was named to the NABC District Three First Team and is the first Liberty player to be named to an NABC All-District First Team since Anthony Smith in 2009.
- Homesley was named a Lute Olson All-American and Lou Henson All-American.
- Homesley ended his career ranked No. 10 on Liberty's all-time scoring list (1,539 career points) and No. 8 on the all-time rebounding list (703 career rebounds).
- Scottie James was named First Team All-ASUN for the second consecutive season.
- James was a Lou Henson All-American.
- James ended his career ranked No. 4 on Liberty's all-time rebounding list (891 career rebounds) and No. 17 on the all-time scoring list (1,323 career points).
- Georgie Pacheco-Ortiz was the No. 1 Pick in the Puerto Rico National Draft and was an All-ASUN Second Team selection.
- Pacheco-Ortiz ranked No. 9 among active Division I players with 102 career wins.
