Liberty Finishes Second in VaSID All-State Survey

Liberty Athletics finished the 2017-18 athletics season with the second-best winning percentage in the Commonwealth of Virginia, allowing Liberty to finish in second place in the 2017-18 VaSID All-State Survey recently released by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).
In its sports with a team win-loss record, Liberty posted a combined 61.2 percent winning percentage (209-132-4). The second-place finish is the best in athletics department history, topping Liberty's third-place finish in the 2010-11 all-sports survey with a 57.8 winning percentage (210-153-4).
James Madison finished in first place in the all-state sports survey with a 66.9 winning percentage (238-117-3). The Dukes took home top honors in the Commonwealth for the third year in a row and sixth time overall.
Liberty's women's teams also finished in second place in the Women's Sports Ranking, posting a 64.9 winning percentage (127-68-3). James Madison's 75.1 percentage winning percentage (163-54) among its women's sports program aided in the Dukes finishing in first place overall in the all-state sports survey.
The Flames' men's teams finished in fourth place in the Men's Sports Ranking, ending the year with a 56.1 percent winning percentage (82-64-1). Virginia finished in first place in the Men's Sports Ranking listing, posting the Commonwealths' top men's winning percentage at 61.4 percent (132-80-5).
