Live Scoring for Liberty at Wofford
Following a stretch of home matches, the Lady Flames tennis squad will be back on the road for the first time in over three weeks. Liberty (6-5) will play a pair of non-conference matches, first at No. 10 Wake Forest on Sunday, followed by a Monday tilt at Wofford.
Sunday's match between the Lady Flames (6-5) and Demon Deacons (10-4) will begin at 4 p.m. at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C., following Wake Forest's match against the Big South's Winthrop Eagles. Sunday's match against the Demon Deacons will mark the highest-ranked opponent Liberty has faced in sixth-year head coach Jeff Maren's tenure.
On Monday, Liberty will battle the Wofford Terriers (8-3) at 1 p.m. at the Reeves Tennis Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
After a slow start to the 2018 season, Liberty now stands at 6-5 overall, with all of its matches coming out of conference so far. The Lady Flames last competed a week ago, picking up a pair of victories (5-2 over UNCG and 7-0 over North Carolina A&T), last Saturday. The Lady Flames will kick off Big South competition next Wednesday against Campbell.
Wake Forest is on a two-match winning streak following victories against No. 30 Virginia Tech and Elon, last Sunday. Wofford will be looking to halt a two-match losing skid when the Lady Flames visit on Monday. The Terriers most recently fell to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs, 6-1, on Friday.
Series History
Liberty and Wake Forest will be meeting for the second straight year and second time ever. The No. 29 Demon Deacons topped the Lady Flames, 4-0, on Feb. 11, 2017 in Winston-Salem, N.C. in the first-ever meeting between the programs.
The Lady Flames and Wofford Terriers will be meeting for the fifth time ever and the third time in the last four years. Liberty took both matchups, 6-1, in 2015 and 2016. The all-time series is even at 2-2.
