Gill Recaps Second Week of Training Camp

Before the Flames wrapped up their second week of August training camp, Liberty Head Football Coach Turner Gill visited with the media to recap his team's progress this season.
The Flames held their second scrimmage of August on Saturday afternoon, with one play catching the watchful eye of ESPN. All-Big South cornerback Chris Turner recorded an interception which made ESPN's Top Plays of the Day (click here to see footage from play).
Last week, Liberty announced plans for its annual Flames Fan Fest event on Saturday, August 26 in conjunction with a Liberty Football open practice during preseason training camp.
Williams Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. for the event and the team will scrimmage from 7 to 8 p.m. The event is free of charge and open to the general public. Fans attending the event will have the opportunity to take home a Flames Football Saturday yard sign. These will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Many of Liberty's traditional game day activities will be available to fans, including Kid's Zone. Fans are encouraged to participate in tailgating prior to the event.
