Liberty officially kicked off its 45th season of football on Tuesday, holding its first practice of August training camp during a morning workout.
Liberty's 95-man roster reported for training camp on Monday, spending the day in a series of administrative meetings and finishing the day with the first team meeting of the 2017 season.
In between the meetings, Liberty players go to know their fellow teammates better during the team's annual bowling event and during a two-hour photo session that included the taking of the 2017 team photo.
With their administrative work behind them, the Flames hit the field for the first time, starting at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday morning. During the two-plus hour practice, Liberty was able to utilize its new indoor practice facility with practice drills taking place both inside the building and on the turf field adjacent to the new structure.
Following the practice session, Flames Head Coach Turner Gill addressed the media for the first time this season. The Liberty Flames Sports Network was on site to provide today's practice update with Liberty's sixth year head coach.
