
Anderson Closes Hokie Fall Invite With Win

Liberty women's tennis junior Rebekah Anderson claimed a victory on the final day of competition at the Hokie Fall Invite, Sunday at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
Anderson's victory, her fourth of the fall, came in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) in the Honor Flight over Big South opponent Lottie Meszaros of Radford.
In total, the Lady Flames captured four match victories during the three-day Hokie Fall Invite, hosted by Virginia Tech.
Fellow junior Lara Soares lost a tough three-set bout to James Madison's Emma Petersen on Sunday in a third-place match of the Sacrifice draw. Petersen took the first set, 6-3, before Soares won the second set, 7-5, to force a third set. JMU's Petersen took the 10-point tiebreaker, 10-4, to win the match 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4).
The Lady Flames will close out their fall season next weekend at the SDSU Fall Classic II in San Diego, Calif., next Friday through Sunday at the Aztec Tennis Center.
