Anderson and Bongart Score Thrilling Doubles Win on Day 1 of ITA Atlantic Regional

Trailing 7-6 in their doubles match, the Liberty duo of Rebekah Anderson and Ashley Bongart pulled out an 8-7 victory on day one of the ITA Atlantic Regional, Friday afternoon at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
Anderson and Bongart, who were matched up against West Virginia senior Lyn Yuen Choo and junior Paula Goetz, needed to hold serve when they were down, 7-6. The pair did so, making it 7-7 to force a tiebreaker where the Lady Flames' tandem prevailed, 8-7 (4).
With the victory, Anderson and Bongart improve to 2-1 as a doubles team, this fall.
The duo advances to Saturday's round of 32 doubles session, where they will face Penn State's ninth-seeded freshmen pairing of Ines Milosevic and Gabby O'Gorman at 10 a.m.
Saturday's action on day two of the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships will begin at 9 a.m. Day two will feature the round of 32 and 16 doubles and round of 64 main draw singles play.
