2. The Flames are looking to snap a two-game losing streak, while Kennesaw State has tied its longest winning streak in program history (four games).
3. Liberty is 2-0 all-time against Kennesaw State. The Flames are looking to become the first opposing team ever to win three games over the Owls.
4. Several trends seem to be working in the Flames' favor. Liberty is 8-2 in its last 10 Big South openers and 8-2 in its last 10 Homecoming games. The Flames are 4-1 when coming off of a bye week under Turner Gill and have won five straight games played in the month of October.
5. Liberty has played well against the run of late, holding its last four opponents to 100.8 yards per contest on the ground. The Flames will be challenged by Kennesaw State, which ranks No. 4 nationally with 302.8 rushing yards per game.
6. Liberty QB Stephen Calvert is best known for his arm, leading the Big South with 1,611 passing yards and 4 TDs. Meanwhile, Owls QB Chandler Burks ranks among the conference leaders in rushing yards (377) and rushing TDs (5).
A Liberty Win Would ...
• Give the Flames their best six-game start (4-2) to a season since 2010, when Liberty also began 4-2.
• Boost the Flames' all-time record against Kennesaw State to 3-0, including 2-0 at Williams Stadium. Liberty would become the first opposing team ever to record three wins over the Owls.
• Give the Flames a victory in their Big South opener for the ninth time in the last 11 years, improving Liberty's all-time record in Big South lid-lifters to 11-5.
• Mark the Flames' third straight win on Homecoming, improving the team's all-time Homecoming record to 31-13.
• Extend Liberty's October winning streak to six games, dating back to an Oct. 24, 2015 win over Kennesaw State.
• Enable the Flames to avoid their first three-game losing streak since dropping five contests in a row between the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
