Game On Feature: Matt Williams

Recently, former Liberty baseball player and Memphis Redbirds shortstop Matt Williams was featured on LFSN's Game On.
Williams was a fixture of the Liberty infield from 2009-11, before being selected in the 15th round of the 2011 Major League Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
The shortstop has earned promotions through the Cardinals organization and is currently, playing for Triple-A Memphis of the Pacific Coast League. This season, Williams has hit .279 with 22 RBI 32 runs scored in 65 games for the Redbirds.
Williams started every game during his three season at Liberty. In 166 games, the Franklin, Tenn. native hit .327 with 86 RBI and 142 runs scored. The infielder also stole 35 bases. He was twice named to the Big South All-Conference team, garnering selection in 2010 and 2011.
