With Liberty's spring football practice well underway, LFSN reporter Alan York recently had a chance to talk with senior defensive end JaRon Greene about the team's spring workouts.
Greene has helped Liberty's defensive line be a dominating force for the Flames. Since 2012, Liberty's defensive linemen have continually led the team in getting behind the line of scrimmage. Liberty's front four have accounted for 53.4 percent of the team's tackles for a loss (151.0 of 283.0) and 84.8 percent of the team's sack total (78.0 of 92.0).
During the 2015 season, Liberty's defensive linemen accounted for 39.5 of the team's 63.0 tackles for a loss (62.7 percent) and 20.0 of the team's 25.0 sacks (80.0 percent).
Individually, Greene finished the year with 36 tackles (16 solo, 20 assisted), including 4.5 tackles for a loss and 2.0 sacks. He saw playing time in all 11 games and started 10 contests.
The Flames will be on the practice field each of the next three days, starting tonight with a practice from 6:45 to 9:30 p.m. Liberty will also practice from 4:20 to 6:40 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
Liberty will hold its annual Spring Football Game, next Saturday (April 16), with the contest starting at 4 p.m.
