With Liberty's spring football practice well underway, LFSN reporter Alan York recently had a chance to talk with sophomore wide receiver B.J. Farrow about the team's spring workouts.
Farrow had a breakout season in 2015, ranking third on the team with 448 receiving yards and tied for second on the squad with two touchdown receptions. He saw playing time in all 11 contests, starting 10 games. He is one of two experienced wide receivers returning to Liberty's roster, joined by rising senior Zac Parker (464 receiving yards, one touchdown in 2015).
His second touchdown reception of last season was one of the most notable receptions of 2015. With time winding down on the clock in a back-and-forth battle between No. 4 Coastal Carolina, All-Big South quarterback Josh Woodrum found Farrow open over the middle of the field.
The wide receiver fended off several attempted tackles, scampering 40 yards to score the game winning touchdown with 1:27 left on the clock to give Liberty a thrilling 24-21 win over the Flames' Big South rival.
The Flames began their third week of spring practice today with an afternoon workout. Liberty will also hold practices on Thursday (6:45 to 9:30 p.m.), Friday (4:20 to 6:40 p.m.) and Saturday (2:30 to 4:15 p.m.) in preparation for next Saturday's Spring Football Game (April 16 – 4 p.m.).
